Civilizations appeared and disappeared, giving future generations a lot of unusual and amazing things. One of the states that managed to preserve such places is El Salvador. It is a small state, 148th in the world in terms of its territory, and is by no means a boring piece of land. The history of the country is full of both bright moments and tragic episodes.

Very close to the capital, about fifteen kilometers from San Salvador, are the ruins of an ancient settlement. Hoya de Serena was in the thriving ancient Mayan civilization. Around 600 A. D. the town was completely hidden under a thick layer of ash. The volcano Loma-Caldera erupted. This settlement is called Pompeii of America. In contrast to the tragedy in Italy, excavations of the city showed that the inhabitants of Hoya de Serena were saved. The value of this place is simply enormous. Household items, food remains, as well as kitchen utensils are perfectly preserved here. To date, about 70 buildings have been removed.

The nature of El Salvador is extraordinarily beautiful. Palms, citrus, mango and many other exotic trees grow here everywhere. You can see ripening bananas, figs, papaya literally at every step. The fauna is also full of various representatives that the average tourist can only see in zoos. Armadillos, sloths, porcupines, cougars, ocelots, all these representatives of the fauna are here in their usual habitat. El Salvador is an amazing state capable of giving every tourist many memorable moments and exciting events.
