The Burj Khalifa tower can claim the title of "very-very", since it is the tallest in the world, there is also the highest observation deck, the interiors were designed by one of the most famous fashion designers in the world, and so on. So this is perhaps the main attraction of Dubai.

What is Burj Khalifa

Together with the spire, the Burj Khalifa rises to a height of 828 meters - no one in the world has ever built such a thing. Inside there are apartments, office buildings, restaurants, fitness rooms, a hotel, shopping centers, observation decks.

The building is constructed in the form of a stalagmite from a huge amount of concrete and reinforcement, and covered with glass plates to prevent overheating. Indeed, at high temperatures, even concrete collapses.

The building has 163 floors, which are accessed by high-speed elevators. The offices of the Armani Hotel are located on the 1st to 39th floors, apartments from the 44th to the 72nd, and from the 77th to 108th floors. On the hundredth floor, Indian billionaire Shetty settled in splendid isolation in three apartments of 500 sq. meters. On the 122nd floor there is a restaurant and an observation deck; there is the same deck on the 148th floor. There are also many different offices - up to 154 floors.

It is impossible to get to the desired floor right away, you have to travel with transfers, since access to some places for outsiders is limited. This is probably why the tower has three separate entrances: to the hotel, apartments and offices. The area of the tower above the main building is filled with communication equipment.

The Burj Khalifa tower was designed by American Adrian Smith, known for his high-rise buildings, and it was built by the South Korean company Samsung. Since 2004, builders have been building 1-2 floors a week, taking into account the climatic features of the country. For example, ice was added to the concrete solution. And concrete was invented specifically for this building.

The construction site employed 7,500 skilled workers from South Asia. Burj Khalifa was opened in 2010, and it got its name in honor of the President of the United Arab Emirates Khalifa Al Nahyan.

How to get on a tour

You can get there by taxi, metro, or a free shuttle bus from the hotel that goes to Dubai Mall, which is next to the tower. Tickets for the excursion are also sold there - at the sign "At the top".

Tickets can be purchased locally or online, based on Burj Khalifa's opening hours:

Sunday to Wednesday - 10 am to 10 pm

Thursday to Saturday - 10 am to midnight

The ticket will be cheaper if you buy it in advance, several days in advance. The cost is significantly different - 125 dirhams and 450 dirhams, respectively. Children up to 3 years old go free, a child ticket up to 14 years old costs 95 dirhams. If you buy on the website, you will need a plastic card of any country.

It is better to come on the excursion on time, otherwise you may simply not be allowed in, and you will have to buy a ticket for a different time. This regulates the number of people simultaneously in the building.
