The procedure for a child's departure abroad depends on whether he is going to the near or far abroad, the visa regime of the country and with whom he follows - with one of the parents, both or a third party. Mutual agreements between the Russian Federation and a specific country determine whether the child needs a passport, and the composition of the accompanying person determines the need for a notarized permission for the child to travel abroad.

It is necessary

  • - the child's passport (not in all cases);
  • - birth certificate;
  • - visa (not in all cases);
  • - notarized permission to take the child abroad (not in all cases).

Instructions

Step 1

The first question you should have an answer to is whether your child needs a passport to travel to a specific country. In most of the CIS countries, a birth certificate is sufficient, and for adults - a Russian internal passport. In other cases, the child must have a separate document. Even if the visa requirements of a particular country allow the issuance of a visa for a child entered in the passport of one of the parents, the Russian FMS authorities, in any case, require a passport to be issued for children. So, if you are going to a country where they are not allowed to enter the Russian Federation with an internal passport, you will first have to contact the FMS to obtain a passport for it. When contacting the child's place of registration, the procedure will take about a month.

Step 2

If your child is traveling with both parents, you do not need to issue a permit to take him abroad. It is a different matter if he is accompanied by only one of them. In this case, the second person, who is not traveling with the child, must contact a notary and receive this document. To do this, you will have to provide the notary with the child's birth certificate and passport, passports - your own and the second parent - and pay for the service. A separate export permit is issued for each child's trip abroad. It indicates a list of countries to which the trip is planned, and its duration. If there is no second parent or he has been deprived of parental rights, instead of permission, you need to present documents confirming these circumstances: death certificate, recognition as missing, document on deprivation of parental rights, etc.. - depending on the situation.

Step 3

If you need a visa to enter the country, which is issued in Russia before the trip, the permission will need to be provided to the consulate or visa center, among other documents. The very procedure for obtaining a visa deserves a separate consideration. One has only to say that the child will need a separate insurance, in most cases his name should be indicated in the documents confirming the hotel booking (or invitation), tickets, if their provision to the consulate, etc. Most likely, the original and a copy will also be needed birth certificates. It is better to check the full set of requirements for documents for a visa, including for children, at the consulate of a particular country.

Step 4

On the day of departure, do not forget the necessary documents at home: a birth certificate, a child's passport, a permit for his export or documents confirming the absence of a second parent. All this will want to see the Russian border guards both at the exit and at the entrance back.
