Instructions

Step 1

The usual visa for Indonesia is valid for one month. For Russians, it is placed at the airport upon arrival in the country; it practically does not require documents. For those who wish to stay on the island for a longer time, another visa is required - a social one. Its validity period is six months. You cannot leave the territory of the island of Bali or Indonesia with this visa, since the visa is single entry, you will not be able to re-enter the country with it. An invitation is required for a social visa.

Step 2

Visa on arrival is the easiest option for anyone planning to visit Bali for a short time, for example, while on vacation. The cost of this visa is $ 25, which must be paid as soon as you arrive in the country. You will also need to fill out a questionnaire. Keep it for the entire duration of your stay on the island: upon departure, the form will need to be shown to the border guards. The only document that is required for a visa, in addition to a passport, is a return ticket from Indonesia (it is not always asked).

Step 3

The validity of the visa on arrival is 30 days. But if you want to extend it, you can do it without leaving the country. A renewed visa will cost you $ 30, if you do the renewal yourself. You can use the services of agencies, it will cost more, but you do not have to do anything. To renew your visa, you will need to show your return ticket from the country and the application form that you filled out upon entry. The procedure is simple, but bureaucratic: you will need to come to the Immigration Office several times.

Step 4

You should start extending your visa upon arrival in advance, and not on the last day of your previous visa. About a week before its expiration, contact the Indonesian Immigration Service and submit your application there. Usually offices are open from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. You will hand over the documents and receive a receipt, on which it will be written that the documents for the extension of the visa were accepted from you. It will also indicate the date and time when you should come and pay the visa fee.

Step 5

On the specified date, you will need to come back to the Immigration Department and pay the visa fee. On site, you must give the receipt to the correct employee who will issue you a check. With this check, go to the cashier of the immigration office (it will be located right there) and return the money. As soon as you pay the visa fee, you will be given another piece of paper, where it will be written when to return for your passport and what time. Usually passports are issued between 13:00 and 15:00.

Step 6

If your goal is to stay in Bali from two to six months, then you need to apply for a social visa. It can only be done outside the country, in Indonesia such a visa is not issued! Remember that you cannot work or do business in Bali with a social visa. You will need the following documents: a passport, round-trip tickets, a questionnaire, an invitation (in the official terminology of the Indonesian immigration service, an invitation is called a sponsorship letter), a photocopy of your passport.

Step 7

To obtain a social visa, contact the Indonesian consulate in any country. Pay the state fee, which is approximately $ 50. In a few days, you will need to show up and collect your passport with a social visa.
