Lithuania in the past was part of the USSR, but today a visa is required before visiting it. The country has signed the Schengen Agreement, so if you already have a visa from any of the Schengen states, you do not need to additionally apply for a Lithuanian visa. If you do not have a visa, then you need to collect the usual package of documents.
Instructions
Step 1
Foreign passport, valid for at least 90 days from the date of expiry of the requested visa. It is imperative that the passport has two blank pages for pasting a visa and affixing entry stamps.
Step 2
A copy of several pages of the passport of a citizen of Russia: with personal data, marital status, the presence of children, registration or registration in the country, as well as a page with information on the issuance of passports.
Step 3
Visa application form. To be completed online on the website of the Lithuanian Embassy. After you finish filling out, the questionnaire will need to be printed (there are 5 sheets in it) and signed. Glue a color photograph of 3.5 x 4.5 cm to the application form, it must be taken no later than 3 months before applying for a visa.
Step 4
Medical insurance, which is valid on the territory of all Schengen countries, for the entire duration of the trip. The amount of coverage must be at least 30 thousand euros.
Step 5
If your trip is tourist, then you need to show confirmation of booking from hotels or hotels. You can instead attach a voucher from a travel agency accredited at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania. In some cases, the consulate may require proof of prepayment for the booked hotels. If you plan to spend time in several cities or countries, then you need to attach the route and hotel reservations in other countries too. Tickets between settlements may be required.
Step 6
In the case of a private trip, you must attach an invitation certified by the Migration Service of the Republic of Lithuania. In support of the invitation, it is imperative to show a copy of the identity card of the inviting party, as well as confirmation that the person resides in the republic legally. If the visit is business, you will need an invitation from a legal entity, it should also be certified by the country's migration service.
Step 7
You usually do not need to show tickets to the country. However, the consulate has the right to require these documents too.
Step 8
Financial documents. Usually they include a certificate from work, which indicates the salary, position and length of service of the applicant. It should also contain information about the director and accountant of the organization and the contact details of these people. The certificate is certified by the seal of the head and his signature. You also need to attach a bank statement, which must contain an amount of at least 40 euros per person per day. The Republic of Lithuania accepts traveler's checks as proof of solvency.
Step 9
If a person does not plan to pay his expenses himself, then you need to attach a sponsorship letter and financial documents from the sponsor. You will also need a copy of the page with personal data from his passport.
