Many people know that you cannot take a certain list of things on a plane. And even if few people immediately remember this list, they remember the existence of a ban on carrying things. But with the train, the situation is different: it is usually believed that absolutely everything can be transported in it. But this is far from the case - and for trains there is a list of things prohibited for transportation in hand luggage.

What should not be taken with you when traveling by train? First, you need to remember that on trains, as on airplanes, there are restrictions on the weight of carry-on baggage. One person can hold no more than 36 kg. True, if you eat in CB, then this figure will increase to 50 kg. And the size of both hand luggage and luggage should not exceed 180 cm (this is the sum in three dimensions - the width, length and height of hand luggage or luggage).

Secondly, it is forbidden to carry items in hand luggage on trains that can stain or damage the things of other passengers and the carriage itself. Also, you can not transport flammable, flammable and explosive, poisonous and other hazardous substances. This also includes chemicals, for example, mercury (you can bring a thermometer and a mercury tonometer).

Of course, it is prohibited to carry various types of pyrotechnics (fireworks and salutes) in hand luggage - these are explosive substances. Foul-smelling substances are also prohibited from transport. As well as fragile and breakable objects.

But firearms can be taken in hand luggage, but with some restrictions: the weapon must be unloaded, packed in a case, cartridges must be kept separately, and there must be documents for the weapon. With melee weapons it is a little easier - it should be in a case and with documents. At the same time, these requirements do not apply to folding and pocket knives - they are not considered melee weapons.

There are restrictions on the transport of liquids. If on airplanes their transportation is prohibited in any quantity, then alcohol and vinegar can be transported on trains, but not more than half a liter per person. Also on the train you can take baby carriages and camping equipment (bicycles, kayaks, etc.), but only disassembled. In this case, one person can carry only one bicycle. Household appliances can also be transported, but if they meet the carry-on baggage norms (weight and size) and are in a special container. True, here you will have to issue a baggage check - the transportation of household appliances is paid. You can also carry seedlings, but only if their height is no more than 1, 8 meters.

Pets are a separate item in the train transportation rules. They can be transported, but only with a special travel document and only in specially designated carriages. If the animal is not large, then it must still be in a special cage or container.

It is worth remembering that these carriage rules only work within the country. If you are going to cross the border, then you also need to study the customs rules - there are more bans.
