How to get there

Munich is the main transport hub in Bavaria, followed by Frankfurt. The railway line connects Frankfurt and many European cities. Frankfurt also has the largest airport.

Munich has the second most important airport, which serves both domestic and international flights. From Munich and Frankfurt, you can go on a guided tour.

Climate

The climate almost along the entire length of the road is mild - in summer it is 23 degrees, and in winter it is a little less than 0. August became a warm month, but it is worth refraining from traveling in January.

Transport

Most cities on the road can be reached by train, but the best option would be to use your own car or tour by bus. In the second case, the tour starts in Frankfurt (north) or Munich (south).

At the same time, the bus travels every day in any direction, so you can get off the flight anywhere and enjoy the scenery (the fact is that the stops are always short, and you won't be able to see everything within the tour). The schedule is available from your guide, and the route is marked on a variety of maps.

Buses carry tourists between April and May, and each journey is a 13-hour guided tour. The official ticket costs 144 euros and can be purchased upon boarding. You can also buy a ticket for part of the trip.

Kitchen

The cuisine is varied - it all depends on the region:

  • in the Bavarian part, a variety of meat and dumplings are prepared. The traditional dish is white sausage, served with wheat-based beer, cretzels and mustard.
  • in the Baden-Württemberg region, pasta with different ingredients is respected. Pasta is served with broth or fried with eggs.

Of course, the list of dishes will be much larger and more varied, but these are the traditional ones.

Where to go and what to do?

The most significant sights that the romantic road of Germany has preserved include the following:

  1. Würzburg will show tourists the Marienberg fortress and museums, the old bridge from 1473, as well as the Würzburg residence in the Baroque style (included in the UNESCO heritage).
  2. Tauberbischofsheim keeps the ruins of a fortified wall from the Middle Ages.
  3. In Bad Mergentheim there is the Deutschordenschloss castle, which belongs to the knights of the Teutonic Order.
  4. Weikersheim is famous for its 12th century castle.
  5. Kreglingen - country houses from 1352 and the more popular wood altar in the Herrgottskirche church.
  6. Rothenburg ob der Tauber - Old Town Hall with a clock tower and old churches.
  7. Feuchtwangen has preserved the city walls from 1400 and the city museum of art in Germany. There is also a museum of singers - the only one in the country.
  8. Harburg is a Jewish historic cemetery.

These and other sights can be seen along the entire romantic road.
