Necessary

  • Passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation
  • Receipt for payment of the state fee
  • Employment record book or extract from it for the last 10 years

Instructions

Step 1

Visit the website of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation: on this portal, in the section "Passport of a Citizen of the Russian Federation, Identity of a Citizen of the Russian Federation Outside the Russian Federation", there is a complete list of documents that may be needed by the recipient of a passport in various situations. Select from this list those documents that will be necessary for you.

Step 2

Start preparing the package of documents required to obtain a foreign passport. The first step in its preparation can be the payment of the state duty for the issuance of a passport. Its size will depend on what type of passport you want to obtain. If this is a new generation passport, which is valid for 10 years, you will need to pay a fee of 2,500 rubles. If you plan to get an old passport, which is valid for 5 years, the state fee will be 1000 rubles.

Step 3

Fill out the application form for the issuance of a passport. You can find a sample of this form on the website of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation. Carefully monitor the correctness of filling out all sections of the questionnaire in terms of the absence of information that does not correspond to reality, since the provision of deliberately false information in this questionnaire entails the occurrence of liability provided for by the current legislation. Please note that although you are currently not working, completing the section containing information about your studies and work activities is also required. You will not only need to certify this information with the seal and signature of the employer.

Step 4

Prepare the rest of the necessary documents: check that you have not forgotten to take your civil passport with you, and also make a copy of the work book. If your work experience is long enough, you can limit yourself to copying those sections of it that reflect your work over the past 10 years.

Step 5

Taking all the necessary documents with you, visit the territorial office of the Federal Migration Service in accordance with your place of residence. You will be able to receive a ready-made passport in a month after submitting the documents: such a period for the production of a passport is provided for by Article 10 of Federal Law No. 114-FZ "On the procedure for leaving the Russian Federation and entering the Russian Federation".
