The capital of Belgium is a quiet, calm and safe city, devoid of the hustle and bustle of a metropolis. A couple of days will be enough for a leisurely sightseeing of the main attractions.
1. Royal Palace
It is located in front of the central park and is one of the symbols of the city. The entrance to the palace itself is free. Also inside is the Museum of the History of the Belgian Dynasty.
2. Grand Place
The central square is home to the town hall and many Gothic buildings. Be sure to take a late evening walk when the buildings are lit up. It's incredibly beautiful. In August, a flower festival takes place here - and the whole square turns into a blooming carpet.
3. Manneken Pis Fountain
This small figurine is perhaps the main symbol of Brussels. The Belgians made it so that the whole world goes to look at the sculpture and take pictures of it. The inhabitants of the city love this boy so much that they dress him in different costumes on holidays. In addition, there are heated discussions about his outfits.
4. Atomium
This is a metal structure in the shape of an atom, which was built specially for the exhibition, but after the end, it was decided to leave it. Now it is one of the main places to visit. In one of the spheres there is a restaurant where you can have lunch or dinner overlooking the city. Near the atom there is a park "Mini-Europe" with reduced copies of the main European symbols and an open-air swimming pool.
5. Neuhaus chocolate boutique
It is close to the terminus of the Erasmus metro station. It differs from the central shops in that you can buy kilograms of chocolate here (cost 20 euros). In addition, each type of chocolate can be tasted for free right in the hall.
6. Gastronomy
Mussels, French fries, Belgian waffles with various additives, chocolate are considered specialties. You will find many restaurants and cafes in the main streets, but prices are quite high here.
7. Bar "Delirium"
It can rightfully be considered one of the city's attractions, because the menu includes more than 1000 sorts of beer. In addition, there is an unusual interior design and a very cheerful atmosphere.
