How to get a passport on the Internet
In order to apply for a new passport, you need to register on the Unified Portal of Public Services. You will need to indicate your passport details, as well as the SNILS number (pension insurance certificate). You can get it from the Pension Fund. Some citizens draw up SNILS at their place of work.
On the main page of the site of public services, you should select the "citizens of the Russian Federation" tab and confirm your agreement with the registration conditions. The choice will be presented three ways to obtain an activation code to enter your personal account: through the Russian Post, in the service center of Rostelecom and using an electronic signature. The post office delivers the code within a month, and in Rostelecom you can get it on the day you apply, presenting your passport and insurance certificate. There you can also get an electronic signature on a USB eToken.
The next stage is filling out the questionnaire. Full name, date of birth, gender, SNILS, TIN and contact information are entered in the appropriate fields. Next, you need to enter the invented password, the security question and the answer to it, as well as the verification code from the image. In the pop-up data confirmation window, you will need to enter a special code - it will be sent by SMS.
The procedure for obtaining a passport
Upon completion of registration on the site, the request will be processed by the system and sent to government agencies, which, in case of successful completion of the service, will send the applicant an activation code. Having received it, you need to go to the portal again, click the "Register" button and enter your code, verification code from the image and SNILS in the appropriate field. This completes the registration, and the user enters the personal account.
Here you need to go to the section "Federal Migration Service" and select the item "registration and issuance of identity passports outside the Russian Federation." Then - fill out the proposed form and upload your photo. After that, the applicant is sent an invitation to the local FMS with an indication of a specific office and the name of a specific person.
To receive the service, you will need to present a passport, work book, a receipt for payment of state duty, an application for the issuance of a new passport and, if available, a previously issued document. Men, in addition to everything else, will need to provide a military ID or a certificate from the military commissariat. The foreign passport will be ready within one month.
