Houses of Parliament

It is this that is the hallmark of Budapest and is depicted on most postcards and souvenirs. This is not surprising, because the Parliament is fabulously beautiful! Be sure to admire it both during the day and in the evening when the backlight comes on. It is best to take pictures from the opposite side of the Danube: either from the embankment opposite, or from the castle.

Szechenyi Baths

This is a completely unique place, there are pools with thermal water, therapeutic mud, a complex of baths and saunas. You can safely allocate a whole day to visit this balneological complex, since a huge number of procedures are offered. Entrance is by tickets. The baths are located in the city center, next to the park.

Danube

This river itself is a landmark of the city, as it divides it into two parts: Budu and Pest. It's even amazing how different they are, it seems that you have visited two different cities. Part of Buda is located on the hills, quiet and calm, there is a lot of greenery, small houses, old castles. It is there that the most prestigious residential areas are located. Pest is a busy part with many tourists, main attractions, bars and whole restaurant streets. Be sure to take a boat ride on the Danube, preferably twice: in the morning and in the evening. So you will see stunningly beautiful panoramas of the city from the water.

Hungarian National Gallery at the Royal Palace

Here is the largest collection of all Hungarian artists.

Basilica of St. Stephen

It is the central temple of Budapest. On the square in front of the Basilica, festivities are held, musicians often perform.

Mount Gellert and Citadel

The highest point in Budapest, from where the city is visible at a glance. We recommend that you climb there on foot, along the winding paths. The Statue of Liberty also stands here - the figure of a woman with a palm branch in her hand.

Interesting museums

If you are not an adherent of the classics, it will certainly be interesting to visit the unusual museums of Budapest: the museum-hospital, the museum of terror, the museum-labyrinths of Dracula. And also the Ludwig Museum, which contains world famous works of contemporary art, including paintings by Andy Warhol.

Margaret Island

This small island is located right in the middle of the Danube, and has been turned into a city recreation park, where the people of Budapest love to spend time with the whole family. There is also an arboretum and singing fountains.

Myatyash Cathedral

An architectural monument of stunning beauty located on the Buda side. The building is in the Gothic style with a colorful tiled roof.

Night Budapest and bridges

At night, the city takes on a completely different, magical atmosphere. All buildings along the Danube embankments, as well as bridges, are beautifully illuminated. This city has such a peculiarity: people walk right along the wide railing of bridges, take pictures and admire the city. Be sure to set aside a free evening to take a leisurely stroll along the embankment, wander around the center and look at the city at night from the water.
