Cape Byron is an amazing place and the easternmost tip of mainland Australia. Cape Byron was named after the English explorer John Byron, who sailed around the world with Captain Cook. South of Byron Bay, on the cliffs and cliffs of this region, there is a coastal tropical rainforest and beautiful banks of banks.
There are three routes along the promontory: a cliff tops trail, a coastal trail, and a shady path that leads through the bush. The observation points offer magnificent views of the green edge, bordered by the blue ocean and white beaches. The geographic position of the cape jutting into the ocean and steeply sinking into the waves makes it a very convenient place for observing large marine animals from above.
The coastal waters are home to the critically endangered gray nurse shark, stingrays, three species of sea turtles (byss, loggerheads and greens), dolphins, carpet sharks, octopuses and a variety of subtropical fish including clownfish. In summer, you can see cat and tiger sharks, and sometimes even a great white shark. Corals provide refuge for small fish, anemones and starfish.
From July to November, hundreds of humpback whales move along the east coast of Australia singly, in small groups, or in pairs, consisting of a mother and a whale. The promontory provides ideal conditions for watching whales sailing calmly by. Sometimes they can be seen in Byron Bay, which at any time of the year is one of the most attractive and beautiful places on Earth for a traveler.
