Horse yard

In 1849, on the territory of Ostashevo, one of the most beautiful equestrian yards in Russia was built in the style of pseudo-Gothic. Now this courtyard is considered the most interesting building in the estate. Unfortunately, the main building was destroyed during the USSR. But on the basis of the foundation, another house was erected, which is of neither interest nor value.

However, the general atmosphere of the estate is idyllic - there are many ropes stretched between the buildings, goats graze around, people are engaged in housekeeping. All this is still there, so every tourist will be able to enjoy the atmosphere of the estate and see the life that was here several centuries ago.

The history of the estate

The last owner of the estate was Prince Konstantin Romanov (grandson of Nicholas I). He bought this estate a little over 100 years ago - in 1903, after he decided to go into the hinterland, away from the bustle of the capital.

In 1915, after the death of his son, Constantine began construction of the family tomb church, but he himself died a month before the completion of construction work. The church was nevertheless completed, but the revolution ruined it. The temple was consecrated only in the 21st century.

On the territory of the estate there was a free village life, daily horseback riding, rowing along the Ruza and other activities. All this is mentioned by Leo Tolstoy in his work "War and Peace", while describing the Battle of Borodino. And this is far from the only mention of the estate in the literature.
