In the USA, the state of Hawaii, the Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park is located. On its territory there are two active volcanoes Kilauea and Mauna Loa. Since 1983, Kilauea has been erupting continuously. Traveling here can be very dangerous.

In 2007, the US National Parks Security Service temporarily closed the Hawaiian Volcanoes cycling tours. This was due to the fact that three tourists died here in a year, and several people were seriously injured.

Previously, everyone could ride a bicycle to the top of the volcano, paying about $ 100 for it, and then go back down. Some tourists were injured or even killed when they lost control of their bike.

In just ten years since 1992, 40 cases of death of tourists were recorded here and more than 45 people were seriously injured. However, these sad statistics do not stop thrill seekers. The tourist flow to this unique park never stops.

In addition to the lava itself, flows of lava gases, which are continuously thrown into the air, pose a great danger. Poisoning with these vapors can also be seriously injured.

Poisonous gases emitted into the atmosphere by active volcanoes are a mixture of hydrogen sulfide, hydrochloric acid and carbon dioxide. In people with asthma and heart problems, this mixture can exacerbate chronic conditions.

If a tourist falls off a cliff, then he will have practically no chance of surviving: he will fall into the icy ocean water.
