Step 1

Make sure that your international passport is valid for at least six months after the expected date of departure from Hungary. Attach an old passport to the general package of documents.

Step 2

Remove copies of the first page of the internal Russian passport (the one with the photo and the place of receipt of the document) and the page with registration.

Step 3

Take a color photo against a light background, size 3, 5 by 4, 5. Please note that photos in oval, with corners or against a dark background are not accepted.

Step 4

Fill out an application for a Schengen visa. Please sign in question 37 and on the last page. Remember that the questionnaire is filled out in English or Hungarian. The application form can be downloaded from the website of the Hungarian Embassy.

Step 5

Issue a certificate at the place of work indicating your position, date of employment, monthly salary and job retention for the vacation period. Please note that the certificate must be printed on the letterhead of the organization and certified by the seal. Another document proving your financial solvency can be a bank statement (no later than a month ago) or traveler's checks at the rate of 50 euros for each day of stay.

Step 6

Book your hotel for your entire stay in Hungary. Please ask the hotel to send you a signed and stamped booking sheet by fax or email.

Step 7

Purchase train or airline tickets. Take copies of them and attach to the general package of documents. In case of ordering plane tickets via the Internet, print itinerary receipts or e-tickets.

Step 8

Contact the insurance company and purchase a medical insurance policy for those traveling abroad for the entire period of stay in the Schengen area. The minimum insured amount of the policy must be EUR 30,000.

Step 9

Schedule an interview at the Consular Section of the Embassy of Hungary online or by calling 495-641-75-00. Pay the visa fee and provide the department employee with a complete package of documents.
