Dubai wonder of the world

The tallest towers in the world are located in Dubai (UAE) and are called "Burj Dubai". From the rooftops of buildings designed by American architect Adrian Smith, the whole city looks like a toy - they are so tall. The construction of the towers took six years, during which the workers built 160-story "candles", their height was 822 meters 55 centimeters.

The first eight floors of Burj Dubai are occupied by the six-star premium hotel Armani, owned by the world famous designer Giorgio Armani. The hotel has restaurants, spas and a nightclub. The rest of the floors, up to the 108th, are occupied by luxury apartments, each of which costs from 600 thousand to 11 million euros.

The cost of building the world's tallest towers has reached almost $ 1.5 billion.

Another 38 floors house a nightclub and a gym, and a tower above the main building houses a huge amount of telecommunications. In addition, Burj Dubai houses the highest in the world: a swimming pool, an observation deck and a mosque (76, 124 and 158 floors, respectively).

It will take just two minutes to get to the upper floors of the towers - the buildings are equipped with the most modern ultra-high-speed elevators, the speed of which can reach 18 m / s. Burj Dubai is powered by a 61-meter turbine powered by solar panels and wind power. It is located on 15 thousand square meters and is one of the largest power units in Dubai.

Competitor to the tallest towers

The United Arab Emirates, with its giants Burj Dubai, plans to overtake Saudi Arabia. The country's authorities have presented to the attention of the world community the project "Kingdom", which will be built in Jeddah by 2020. The height of the ambitious project, the implementation of which will be controlled by a millionaire and the Saudi prince al-Walid, will be 1,600 meters.

The name of the author and designer of the "Kingdom" in Saudi Arabia has not yet been disclosed - but, according to rumors, it is the architectural firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture.

The construction of the tallest tower in the world will cost the country, according to preliminary calculations, $ 30 billion. The unique building will house offices, shops and apartments, and a large observation deck will be built on the 157th floor, from which a view of the Red Sea and the city will open. Thus, the "Kingdom" will be a metropolis localized in one tower.
