Due to the diversity of the natural landscape and climate in Russia, there is also a place for snow-capped mountains, in the area of which the corresponding resorts were built. But modern technologies make it possible in a number of cases to create artificial tracks where they should not be according to natural indicators. In the Caucasus, the Elbrus region can be called the most famous ski resort. It is located in the vicinity of Mount Elbrus - the highest place in Europe. This area is attractive for the beauty of nature, as well as a fairly mild climate in winter. Similar weather conditions prevail in the ski resorts in the Sochi region. An example is such a popular place as Krasnaya Polyana. This place for skiing, unlike the Elbrus mountains, is well suited for beginner athletes. The area is also known for its safety - avalanches are extremely rare there. There are ski resorts in the Ural Mountains. As an example we can cite "Abzakovo" - this resort most of all in this region meets European standards in the organization of ski holidays. Siberian resorts are becoming more and more famous. Since the 2000s, ski centers in the Kemerovo region, founded during the Soviet Union, have been actively developing. An example is Sheregesh - the most famous resort village on the territory of Gornaya Shoria. The problem in this case is the region's rather harsh climate. The average temperature during the winter months can reach -25 degrees. Nevertheless, lovers of exotic and people who are not afraid of frost may be interested in Siberian ski slopes. Skiing began to develop in central Russia, for example, in the Moscow region. Since there are no mountains in this area, either natural hills on the terrain or artificial structures are used for skiing. The plus of rest at such a base is most understandable to Muscovites - there is no need to go on a long trip just to go skiing.
