The Latvian city of Jurmala is rightfully considered the largest resort in the Baltics, consisting of several small towns that were once fishing villages. The pride of this resort is its wooden architecture, which has stood out clearly in the city building since the 19th century.

White sandy beaches are the main attraction of the resort. Majori and Jaunkemeri beaches are marked with the Blue Flag - the mark of quality, safety and amenities. In Jurmala, you can visit excellent mud and water baths. Fans of outdoor activities can easily find something to their liking - from cycling to diving. This is a great place for a beach holiday with the whole family, since the shallow sea depth allows even small children to swim. The beach is surrounded by tall pine trees that saturate the air with a coniferous aroma.

At the entrance to Jurmala there is one of the largest water parks in Northern Europe - "Livu". More than 45 water attractions can be visited by both adults and children all year round, seven days a week.

It is worth walking along the pedestrian street Jomas. It is famous for its unique wooden architecture, and most of the shops, cafes and restaurants are located here.

On the way to the beach, you can go to the Dzintari Forest Park, where you can enjoy the view from the 33-meter-high observation tower. In the park, you can go rollerblading, skateboarding, or simply go hiking in the fresh air.

In Jurmala, you can visit a gallery of paintings called "Inner light" by Vitaly Ermolaev, who paints his works in a unique technique. His paintings under special lighting have the effect of three-dimensionality, it seems that there is another painting under the top image.

In the Ragakapa Nature Park, there is an opportunity to see a recreated fishing courtyard with buildings made in the style of the 19th-20th centuries.

The Jurmala resort of Kemeri, located between lakes and bogs, deserves special attention. This place is rich in medicinal sulfur springs, known since the second half of the 18th century, when representatives of high society began to come here to treat their ailments. They stayed with the foresters, from the name of one of whom the name of the city was formed. The beautiful Kemeri National Park is located here, where architectural elements are harmoniously intertwined with the natural landscape. The river Vershupite flows through the park, where you can swim in small boats, enjoying the local picturesque landscape.
