The need to obtain a visa to Montenegro for Russian citizens is due to the length of the visit to this Eastern European country. In short, for a stay in Montenegro for up to 30 days, you will not need to obtain a special visa, however, for a longer visit, you need to contact the Embassy of Montenegro in advance for a special visa.
Visa-free travel up to 30 days
Unlike its closest neighbor, Croatia, which three years ago obliged Russians to obtain visas to travel to its territory, Montenegro today still stands out favorably with a visa-free 30-day regime with Russia. This means that the citizens of our country, as well as Belarusians, Ukrainians and Baltic people, can enter Montenegro without having obtained visas in advance.
To get an entry stamp, when crossing the border, you must present a passport, which expires no earlier than the end of the trip.
How to get a visa to Montenegro
Russians have the right to stay in Montenegro for more than 30 calendar days if they receive a special multiple-entry 90-day visa in advance. In order for the coveted stamp to be affixed in the passport, you must contact the Embassy of Montenegro in Russia, which is located in Moscow at st. Mytnaya, 3.
The required package of documents does not differ much from a similar set for obtaining a Schengen visa. So, among the mandatory papers, the passport and copies of its pages are the first and containing information about the child, if the latter is planned to be taken on a trip to Montenegro. In addition, you need to fill out a visa application form in Russian or English, an application in any form for issuing a visa to the Consular Section at the Embassy of Montenegro, in which it is necessary to indicate the purpose of the trip, as well as the duration of stay, indicate the date and sign. Finally, depending on the purpose of your visit to Montenegro, you will need to present a copy of a tourist voucher, a business invitation from a business partner in Montenegro or a private person, or copies of certificates of ownership in this country. You also need two color photographs of 3x4 cm.
You need to know that regardless of the duration of your visit to Montenegro, you will have to pay an additional 15 euros when leaving the country, unless they are already included in the price of an air ticket or tour package.
The size of the visa fee is not the most democratic for today and is 62 euros. For a child under 14 years old, you will need to pay half of this amount. All documents must be presented to the Consulate in person or on the basis of a notarized power of attorney.
Having entered Montenegro on a visa, a tourist from Russia needs to register at the Infotourism point of the city in which he arrived within the next 24 hours after entering.
