Bali is a favorite vacation spot and even a place of residence for many Russians, because unlike the more familiar European resorts, the island attracts tourists with genuine exoticism and a comfortable climate throughout the year.

Bali island: geographical location

To find the island of Bali on the globe, you must first find Australia and the countries that are part of Southeast Asia - Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia. There are many islands in between these objects on the map. Bali is located next to one of the largest stretching from west to east almost parallel to the equator. Its outline resembles a not too even rhombus, from the West it is washed by the Indian Ocean and is adjacent to the island of Java, and from the east - by the waters of the Pacific Ocean, more precisely, the Bali Sea, which is part of it. The dimensions of the island are quite small: about 150 by 80 km, that is, it is even less in length than, for example, the distance from Moscow to Ryazan. The proximity to the equator results in a climate with smoothed seasons. Conventionally, the whole year can be divided into two halves - dry and wet. The geographical position of Bali is also determined by the fact that here the temperature fluctuates around one mark of 26 degrees.

It is interesting that in our country the name of the island is often pronounced with an accent on the last syllable, although Bali sounds correctly.

Nationality

Bali is part of the state of Indonesia, by the way, this is the name of the province, to which several other small neighboring islands belong. The population is just under 4,000,000 people, most of whom are employed in tourism and the service sector, while the rest are mainly engaged in agriculture - growing rice and coffee. Interestingly, the Balinese separate themselves from the rest of the Indonesian population, the main difference being, of course, in religion. The main religion of the state is Islam, and in some provinces the religion is radical. But in Bali, Hinduism is practiced, which makes the island even more attractive for tourists.

Due to religious contradictions, Bali has repeatedly become the target of radical Muslim terrorists.

How to get to Bali

To get to Bali, you need to prepare for a long and very tiring flight. There are no direct flights from Moscow to the main city of the island of Denpasar, so you will have to plan a route with a stopover in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. You can also fly with a connection to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Guangzhou (China), Seoul (Korea) or to major European airports - in Amsterdam or Paris. In any case, the journey beyond the equator will take at least 14 hours.
