Instructions

Step 1

Original birth certificate. Without it, it is impossible to travel through the territory of the Russian Federation with a child under 14 years old. If it is not possible to take the original certificate with you, you need to make a copy certified by a notary. On trips abroad, where the main document is a foreign passport, it is not necessary to take a birth certificate, but it is recommended, especially if the child's surname does not coincide with the parents' surname.

Step 2

Passport or international passport. Children from 14 years old have a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, with which they will travel around Russia. For trips abroad, children of any age can have a biometric passport, or the child must be entered in the passport of one of the parents, moreover, from the age of 7, a photo must be pasted into it for a child. If the parents do not have ordinary, but biometric passports, the child will not be able to enter there, you will have to issue a separate passport for him.

Step 3

In some CIS states - Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, a child under 14 years old can leave with a birth certificate, but an insert about the child's citizenship must be attached to it. Children over 14 years old can travel to these countries with a Russian passport.

Step 4

If a child under 18 crosses the border of the Russian Federation accompanied by only one parent, the consent of the other is not required, but only if the other parent has never submitted an application for disagreement with the child's departure from the Russian Federation. If at least once such an application has been submitted to the border authorities, the second parent is required to consent to the departure of the child. Such a document is drawn up by a notary.

Step 5

When traveling abroad without being accompanied by parents, guardians or trustees, the child is required to have, among other documents, obligatory consent for the child to leave from one of the parents, if the other did not receive a statement of his disagreement. The notarized document must indicate the travel dates and the countries that the child intends to visit. In addition, the person accompanying the child will need a notarized power of attorney.

Step 6

Among the documents for a child over 14 years old when buying tickets and boarding a train must be a certificate from the educational institution in which the child is studying, to confirm his right to a discount when traveling on a child ticket.
