The route through the Fastdalen, Sturdinddalen and Russedalen valleys is considered another easy walking route.

Flora and fauna

Deciduous forests and valleys are home to a variety of interesting birds, including birds of prey. In summer, you can see deer here. Lynxes, moose, wolverines are residents of these places all year round. In the fjords, you can catch catfish, pollock, cod and haddock, while in the mountain lakes you can catch char and trout. Many destinies in these places are rich in vegetation, everything is strewn with flowers, you can often find overgrown carnations.

Accommodation

The choice of accommodation in Lyngsalpen is limited. The best accommodation would be in the cities of Nur-Lenangen, Coppangen, Svensby, Furuflaten or Lyngseide. If you want something unusual, “boat plus skis” is a great option: skiers stay overnight on board the boat, in the morning they go ashore at the foot of the mountains, climb the mountain and ski down. The city of Tromse can receive guests, there are different options for housing. There are youth recreation centers in Sturfjord and Troms. Food is offered in many places.

How to get to Lyngsalpene?

1) Lyngen is located 60 kilometers from Troms to the west. There is a bus from Tromsø to the Lyngen Peninsula 3 times a day.

2) You can drive your car to Brevikeide, take the ferry to Svensby via Ullsfjord. From Svensby you need to go either to Lyngseide (30 minutes) or to Nur-Lenangen (45 minutes).

3) There is an express boat service between Troms and Shervey three times a week, you need to get to the Nur-Lepangen stop and from there to Lyngsalpene - by bus or car.
