Instructions

Step 1

Download the application form on the official website of the Embassy of Latvia. It is posted in Word format, compiled in two languages - English and Latvian. Print it out, fill in block letters in English in legible handwriting. You can fill out the application form electronically, print it out and sign it. The minor's application form is signed by the parents or guardians.

Step 2

Take 2 color photographs on a white or light gray background, 35x45 mm. Photos printed on glossy and matte paper are acceptable. Warn the photographer that the distance between the pupils should be approximately 6 mm, the distance from the line of the eyes to the chin should be 15 mm, and from the head to the top of the photograph should be 6 mm. Photos in jackets, hats, dark glasses are not accepted.

Step 3

Buy tickets to the end. You can get to Latvia by plane, car or rail. If traveling by car, make copies of the documents on the vehicle and driver's license. Apply for a Green Card and draw up an application in any form describing the travel itinerary.

Step 4

Book your hotel or hostel. Get your voucher for your room reservation on the hotel's letterhead. Original vouchers, facsimile copies and e-bookings are accepted. Website booking confirmation is not accepted www.booking.com

Step 5

Apply for a medical insurance policy for those traveling abroad for the period of stay in Latvia. The sum insured specified in this policy must be at least EUR 30,000. Study the list of insurance companies accredited by the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia. Other companies' policies are not accepted.

Step 6

Prepare documents proving your financial solvency. Make a bank statement from your account for the last three months, take a certificate from the place of work containing information about your position and salary, purchase traveler's checks at the rate of 10 lats (approximately 15 euros) for each day of your stay.

Step 7

Make sure that your passport is valid for at least 3 months from the end of the trip and that it has at least two free pages. Make copies of all Schengen visas of your old passport and the first page of your internal passport.

Step 8

Pay the visa processing fee. It is 35 euros for a short-term tourist visa for general registration and 70 euros for an urgent one, it will be prepared within 3 days. Payment is accepted in Euro, cash only.

Step 9

Submit all documents, including your passport, to the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia.
