If your luggage is lost, there is no need to panic. You need to contact a special service - Lost & Found, which is at every airport. The service personnel will inspect the baggage claim area, aircraft, loading and unloading area.
If the luggage is not found, you will need to draw up an act in 2 copies describing how the luggage looks like: shape, color, size. After filling out, the passenger receives a document with the application number, and the found baggage is sent to the destination on the first flight.
Baggage tracing can take 21 days, but most often the baggage is found and returned within a few days, delivering it to the hotel where you are staying.
If the most unpleasant thing happened and during this time the luggage was not found, it will be considered lost or stolen. In this case, the baggage is compensated by the carrier company, depending on the rules of the airline. If you do not agree with the amount, you will need to draw up a statement to the address of the air carrier indicating the amount of compensation you are counting on. The company will either pay you this amount, or you will have to seek it through the courts.
In general, it is recommended to carry the most valuable things in hand luggage, and only clothes and those things that are easy to replace in the luggage, so as not to spoil the vacation.
