The problem of obtaining water was faced by many who had to get into extreme conditions. Travelers often find themselves in situations where there is neither a river nor even the tiniest spring nearby. Meanwhile, water is more important for the human body than food, and if it is not obtained, then the traveler in trouble may not wait for help. Water can be obtained from the air. It tends to condense, and if you build a special device, then in a few hours it will be possible to obtain an amount of moisture sufficient to support the vital activity of the body. The items necessary for the construction of a condensing device are usually taken by extreme lovers on a hike.

Necessary

  • Shovel
  • A piece of plastic or other plastic
  • Dropper tube
  • Several stones

Instructions

Step 1

Solar heat must be used to condense water. If you put a piece of plastic on the ground, the air underneath will begin to warm up. There is always a certain amount of moisture in the air, even if there has been no rain for a long time. You just need to take this water. The air trapped between the ground and the polyethylene will warm up until it is saturated with moisture so that it can no longer hold it. In any case, polyethylene will be colder than the air underneath, and accordingly, droplets will begin to settle on the polyethylene. If there are a lot of them, they will begin to break down and may even flow in small rivulets. Therefore, you need to build a trap for them.

Step 2

Dig a hole about 1 m in diameter and about 0.5 m deep. Place a bucket at the bottom of the hole. This will be the "trap" for the water. Insert the dropper tube into the bucket and bring it up. The tube can also be rubber. The main thing is that it is long enough, no less than the distance between the edge of the pit and the bucket. If you insert the tube right away, then you need to fix it with something - for example, put a stone on the edge of the hole and tie the tube to it. But you can also insert it later, when everything is ready.

Step 3

Spread a piece of plastic over the pit. It should not only completely cover the pit, but also sag thoroughly, so a piece is needed 1.5-2 m long. Press the short edges of it with stones. Place a stone in the middle of the polyethylene. The load should be right above the bucket.
